UPROAR FESTIVAL

NORTH CAROLINA,USA
2023
Uproar Festival of Public Art took place in the summer of 2023 and was the first event in NC. Uproar featured sixty bold, high-impact outdoor works of art showcased throughout the downtown communities of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough.
Uproar was a project four years in the making. Born from a desire to showcase our community through art and the arts, Uproar has become the first public art festival of its kind not only for Orange County but also in the state of North Carolina.

For this Festival, we used our Serie Analog Filters to make a
Light Tunel.
We create real-life photo filters. People are encouraged to walk under the laser-cut translucent acrylics to experience the colors. We encourage the use of their digital devices (phones and cameras) to create a connection between the physical and the digital world.
Using the Acrylic shapes, we hang a fish-like mobile that will work as our Filter of light. With the help of the sunlight, the light sculpture starts appearing. The spectator is encouraged to walk through the alleyways and see how different light colors paint them.
